A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, Dave expresses, “I have always admired the design and craftsmanship of early American pottery. I spent most of my art career as a traditional potter, artist and teacher among other things. Early on, I began using clay that I had dug myself from a local quarry in Southeastern Lancaster County. I didn’t have money for a potter’s wheel and improvised making my first wheel from an old Maytag washing machine. After the business got off the ground, I was called to give pottery demonstrations for museums and other historical venues. One of my highest honors was my chosen ornament for the White House Christmas Tree."
