Also, known by many as Jan-Willem, he has worked as an illustrator and designer for the past 30 years for more than 100 clients in both the USA and Europe winning several awards for his outstanding work.
He began his career working for Marketing Oberon and was the in-house illustrator for KIJK, a Dutch popular scientific magazine. In Europe he also created illustrations for Muy Interresante (Spain), P.M. (Germany), Elixer, Doe Het Zelf, Nuon and more. After 30 years of living in the USA, he is putting his appreciation for the American landscapes and cityscapes on canvas using oil or acrylic. As he says, "Art is part of my heart, soul and mind." He tries to paint how he feels his environment; simplify it and bring it back to the basics.
